Director of Programs
Lindsay currently serves as the Director of Programs at Arts Ignite (formerly ASTEP), an international multi-disciplinary arts education organization based in New York City. At Arts Ignite, Lindsay's work enables young people to discover the joy and power of making art—to share their voices, tell their stories, and transform their lives. She leads a robust programming department rooted in the Arts Ignite mission to DEVELOP AGENCY IN YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH THE ARTS.
Lindsay is deeply passionate about providing arts-rich learning experiences for all young people through the lens of culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy. Her work as an educator has brought her around the globe serving as both a teaching artist and administrator to for youth programs and adult professional development.
Starting her work as a music educator in the public school system, Lindsay traveled to Accra, Ghana in the summer of 2013 to work with the young actors of the St. Martin de Porres School as the Director of Theatre, mounting the school’s first musical. Since then, Lindsay has taught in Rust, Germany at Europe’s famed Europa Park, the American Renaissance Academy in Oahu, Hawaii, the International Rescue Committee’s Newcomer Youth Summer Academy, in Beijing, China, Bangalore, India, and across the continental United States.
Lindsay is also a guest lecturer for pre-service educators and researchers at universities and conferences across the nation including Columbia University, Arizona State University, and the Antiracism for Educators Conference. In addition to her Music Education degree studies, Lindsay has trained at Lincoln Center Education in NYC, is a certified ESL teacher, and holds a Masters in Arts Administration with a focus on Arts Education.
